Scope of Application: ★★★★★

Technical Difficulty: ★

Whether you plan to do SEO yourself or plan to find a SEO service provider, the first problem we need to solve is "Is my website suitable for SEO?"

In fact, there are some basic problems that can be judged by yourself.

1. Can the content of my website be seen by search engines?

It's not that as long as people can see it, search engines can see it. At present, the crawling of search engines is still based on text content. If the website is all FLASH or pictures, then no matter how hard we try, the website will not perform well in SEO. Because search engines can't recognize the text on FLASH or pictures, they can't judge what keywords our website is most relevant to. Therefore, when searching for keywords, the chance of the website appearing in the search results is relatively low. E.g:

We can see on the website in the picture above that the few words are actually displayed on the FLASH as a picture. Except for some parts of the source code that can place very few text content, search engines can hardly find any text content on the page.

2. Does the content of my website have a certain degree of originality?

After reading the first paragraph, many friends are very happy. Our website has a lot of text content that can be crawled and analyzed by search engines. Then, our second question comes again. Where did the content posted on the website come from? If the entire website, except for the basic company introduction, almost all content is reproduced from other websites. For this kind of website with very low originality, further SEO work is unable to be carried out.

3. Is my URL setting reasonable? 3.1 Whether there is a URL redirect

When we enter the website URL in the address bar of the browser, does the browser redirect to a new URL?

Example 1: When we enter http://www.ggseo.cn , it is displayed as:

Example 2: When we enter http://www.geberit.com.cn , the address bar shows as

Obviously, Example 1 is simple and straightforward. It is easy to identify for both ordinary users and search engines, which is very beneficial to the later optimization of the internal or external links. Moreover, the homepage that directly uses the domain name usually has a higher weight in search engines than an inner page.

It is easy to identify for both ordinary users and search engines, which is very beneficial to the later optimization of the internal or external links. Moreover, the homepage that directly uses the domain name usually has a higher weight in search engines than an inner page.

So, what if I have multiple language versions of the website? Usually we recommend a default language version, this main language uses the top-level domain name. For other language versions, use folders, or use two domain names of .com and .cn to access websites in different languages.

3.2 Whether the URL is static

Regarding static and dynamic issues, many industry insiders also said that they were not very clear. In fact, "dynamic " refers to the ability to dynamically call the content in the database (not that your webpage has animation on it, so it will move...). Of course, we do not need to know so professionally, just look at the example:

Example 3:

Example 4:

Generally speaking, we can understand this way, that the URL ending in .htm or .html in Example 3 is static, and the URL that contains symbols such as "? ", "=", and " & " in Example 4 is dynamic.

Dynamic URLs that are too long can sometimes have a certain impact on search engine crawling. Moreover, some unnecessary errors will be generated, and some errors will cause the search engine to crawl a large number of blank pages that do not originally exist, resulting in a reduction in the weight of the entire site. So try to ask the website development company, or company's programmers to make the website URL static, and it is not a very complicated task.

The above three points are the basic requirements for the website to conduct SEO, but it does not mean that if these three points are completed, the website will have good search engine performance. In the next issue, we will combine some web tools to do some data analysis to have a basic understanding of our website's SEO data.
